Flock Freight Appoints Chris Pickett As New Chief Operations Officer

Metropolitan Airport NewsBy Metropolitan Airport NewsOctober 28, 2022No Comments3 Mins Read

Flock Freight, a technology company creating a smarter, more sustainable supply chain using patented technology, announced it would promote Chief Strategy Officer Chris Pickett to the newly-added Chief Operations Officer (COO) role. As Flock Freight’s first COO, Pickett will oversee Flock’s daily operations as the company continues to fundamentally change the way freight moves and offer the most sustainable solution for shippers and carriers – shared truckload – in an industry overdue for innovation.

“Chris has already proven himself to be a valuable addition to Flock’s leadership team since coming in as Chief Strategy Officer last July,” said Oren Zaslansky, Flock Freight CEO and Founder. “We’ve set ambitious goals for this company, and I am confident that Chris will continue to be an outstanding leader for the Flock team as we deliver on our promise to pool more freight using our shared truckload technology.”

Pickett, who first joined Flock as Chief Strategy Officer in July of 2021, has over 20 years of commercial experience operating at the intersection of global supply chain management, technology innovation, and transportation market economics. Chris brings a rare combination of industry expertise and creativity, plus a track record of leading high-growth organizations as an incoming COO. After spending his early career in distribution network design and software development and implementation, he joined the early leadership team at Coyote Logistics soon after the organization’s inception in 2006. Chris was a key contributor to Coyote’s legendary rise to $2 billion in global revenue before its acquisition by UPS in 2015, as well as its subsequent doubling in size to become the second-largest U.S. truckload (TL) freight broker by 2020. Along the way, he also earned degrees in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, and Business Administration from Virginia Tech, MIT, and Georgia Tech, respectively.

“Flock Freight is the only company in the world using patented technology to pool freight at scale,” said Chris Pickett. “In an industry ready for innovation, I am excited to take on this new role and continue to prove the value of our shared truckload services to both our carriers and our shippers.”

Flock Freight has been reinventing freight shipping since 2015. Flock Freight leverages its advanced, first-to-market algorithms that pool shipments and fill trucks at scale to create a new standard of service for shippers and increase revenue for carriers. Flock Freight’s patented technology to facilitate shared truckload eliminates the need for terminals and is the only carbon-neutral shipping option with all emissions accounted for through carbon offsets. Flock Freight was recently recognized as one of TIME magazine’s “Most Influential Companies in the World” and as a CNBC “Disruptor 50.”
