Ink helps BermudAir launch at LaGuardia

Ink Innovation enables BermudAir’s LaGuardia launch with a fully mobile airport operation.
Metropolitan Airport NewsBy Metropolitan Airport NewsNovember 18, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

BermudAir’s new non-stop between New York–LaGuardia and Bermuda went live, using Ink Innovation’s technology to run passenger handling fully mobile. Agents use handheld devices with portable printers to complete check-in, document checks, bag tagging and boarding wherever needed, without relying on traditional airports or fixed self-check-in kiosks.

LaGuardia is slot-controlled, has a short-haul perimeter rule, and tight terminal capacity, so speed and flexibility are crucial. Ink’s mobile solution, Ink Touch, reduces queueing, supports quicker turnarounds and helps keep flights on time at one of the country’s most constrained, business-critical airports.

Operating from LaGuardia’s Marine Air Terminal requires speed, adaptability, and smart use of space. Ink’s mobile platform empowers our team to move seamlessly through the terminal, supporting guests wherever they are. This level of mobility enhances the flow of our operation and helps us maintain the smooth, reliable airport experience our guests expect.

George Henderson, Chief Operating Officer at BermudAir.

Since its launch, Ink Innovation has supported BermudAir’s strategy to provide convenient access to Bermuda from New York while keeping the airport experience simple and fast. The airline uses Ink Departure Control System (Ink DCS), which operates on both desktop and mobile, as well as Ink Load Control. This stack streamlines check-in, boarding, baggage handling and weight and balance.

Mobile-enabled operations at LaGuardia Airport

  • On-the-spot processing: Agents complete ID and document checks, issue boarding passes and print IATA-compliant bag tags in the queue, easing counter bottlenecks.
  • Dynamic capacity: Extra service points can be opened in minutes during peaks or disruptions, then redeployed to gates to keep people moving.
Streamlined boarding: Handheld boarding with cabin-bag prompts and instant gate-tag printing keeps gate areas flowing while maintaining compliance.
  • Built-in compliance: APIS capture and visa/Timatic checks are part of the mobile workflow, cutting manual steps and lowering error risk.
  • Operational resilience: Cloud delivery and minimal hardware reduce outage risk, keeping passenger services running even when fixed infrastructure is constrained.
    Service context

BermudAir’s LaGuardia flights operate twice weekly, alongside twice-weekly Newark service and continuing operations from Westchester County Airport, expanding New York-area access to Bermuda.

BermudAir is Bermuda’s flagship airline dedicated to convenient, comfortable and reliable air service between Bermuda and key North American gateways. The airline offers passengers its signature warm service and authentic island hospitality. With service from LaGuardia, Newark and Westchester County, BermudAir offers New Yorkers multiple convenient paths to the island backed by a streamlined airport experience.
