On behalf of ABMCares Ambassador Shamelie Rafick, ABM’s Aviation Landside teams of Parking, Taxi, and Shuttle at JFK recently hosted a fundraiser that raised over $1,000 for the charity, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation – Fighting childhood cancer, one cup at a time.
Donating their time, talents, generosity, and heart, and through her tireless efforts of planning, engaging, organizing, and producing, Ms. Rafick brought together Annata, Madelinz, Verona, Pooname, Rosa, Mike, Andre, Thomas, Gregory, Zineb, Jessica, Marwa, and others to raise this generous donation by simply selling lemonade!
On the first day of summer, in the outside picnic area of Building 141, ABMCares’ beautifully decorated lemonade stand had a variety of intriguing, non-alcohol beverages that were donated by staff, that included homemade delights such as Sorrel and Paradise Punch. A bevy of homemade delectable treats was offered, including pineapple upside-down cake and cream puffs, along with lemon-themed aprons, pot holders, and pens.
ABM GMs donated a Lenovo Tablet, which was raffled off, and Mr. Pennycooke from Taxi Operations was the big winner.
